Orlando 2026 Bicycle Plan Update

The City of Orlando began updating its Bike Plan in fall 2025 to build on its long-standing vision that biking in Orlando should be a safe, comfortable, and convenient transportation option for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, supported by a connected, low-stress bikeway network.

The plan establishes the vision that bicycling in Orlando should be:

  • Safe and comfortable
  • Accessible to all ages, abilities, and backgrounds
  • A practical transportation option, not just recreation
  • Supported by a low‑stress bikeway network that connects daily destinations

The update follows national best practices while reflecting shifts in the local community and across neighborhoods, focusing on who the network serves, what it provides, and why it matters for transportation and quality of life. Plan recommendations will support the City in upgrading it's silver status as a Bicycle Friendly Community from the League of American Bicyclists. Community input will help shape a visionary, accessible, and safety-focused bikeway network with clear goals and performance targets through 2030.
